My car in the Sierra Nevadas near Monitor Pass (Hwy. 89)
Car Log
9/15/2004 - brakes squealing and throbbing - $375 brake job (new pads
+ resurface rotors) & oil change (65k miles)
6/30/2004 - 60k service - no non-scheduled work necessary.
9/19/2003 - hit 50,000 miles - tires are bald and need replacing. CD
player is acting a little strange (rejecting discs 7/10 times),
otherwise all is fine.
12/31/2002 - rolled 36,000 miles - new car warranty now expired, yet
car failed to spontaneously breakdown ;-)
12/20/2002 - 30,000 tuneup (at 35,000 miles - oops!). Cost $550, but
at least nothing needed doing beyond what was scheduled.
8/10/2002 - Went offroading at Alabama Hills, fun stuff! Rolled
27,000 miles. Overheated a bit after a few hours, but it was >
100°F out (therefore) and I had the AC on, so that's not
too surprising!
4/2/2002 - Car turned 1 today! Still running just fine, no
problems of any kind.
11/10/2001 - Went offroading again, same place off of Monitor Pass (SR
89) as below.
7/13/2001 - Took car offroading for the first time near Monitor Pass.
It handled extremely well, and I only scraped the bottom a couple of
times. Gorgeous 25-mile dirt road with several slightly challenging
climbs and descents (well, challenging to my
very-inexperienced-offroad-self!). Road connected lower Hwy 89 in
California to Hwy 395 just south of Echo Lake in Nevada. Car got very
dirty (but it looks good in dirt :)!
7/06/2001 - Rolled over 6,000 miles
6/15/2001 - 3,500 mile oil change
4/2/2001 - Picked up car from Livermore Subaru - woo hoo!
