Excellent breakfast food in a popular cozy neighborhood joint (expect a wait). I had a hangtown fry ($9.95) - scrambled eggs with oysters, bacon and onions, and it was great! I could see how it would be a good hangover breakfast (the menu says that if this doesn't cure your hangover, just go back to bed, and yes, I do know that this dish is named for Placerville, CA's original name of Hangtown). There's plenty to choose from on the menu, and many items have a southern flair (grits are available with nearly everything, for example). Our beignets were fluffy and mild, not too doughnut'y, service was gruff-yet-friendly. Too bad it's nowhere near our usual digs, as I'd love to return. Along with the Pork Store, this is one of the best american-style breakfasts I've had in in SF.
