Good Provencal French food at reasonable prices (daily specials aside, no entree is over $13 and the prix fixe is $17.95 for three courses). Tasty breakfasts as well.

For one dinner, I started with the Patie Zazie ($5.95, chicken liver and brandy pate on levain bread). Health food it was not, but it tasted excellent. My entree of Choucroutte Alsacienne ($10.95, sourkraut w/salt pork, garlic sausage, ham hock, bockwurst, creamer potatoes and mustard) was fantastic, if a little meat-heavy.

On a later visit, I had the prix fixe dinner with pate, an excellent seafood boulabaise(?sp), and peach and blueberry cobbler, again a very satisfying experience, albeit with a surprisingly long wait for a Thursday evening (~30min for a party of 3). A more recent (Mar '06) lunch didn't fare as well - my salade nicoise's tuna was mealy and Ed's mussels were completely sans broth (what's the point of eating mussels if you can't sop up the broth with your bread?).

Nice neighborhood atmosphere and commendably un-pretentious. Decor is funky french, and service has always been casual and friendly. They have a garden dining area in the back for those 10 days a year when it's warm and sunny enough to eat outdoors west of the Mission ;)
