Tasty udon and soba noodles served in a variety of ways in a somewhat tired black and red laquer space on the second floor of Japantown's pedestrian mall. No shtick here, just yummy noodles, broths and meats served quickly by a friendly staff.

After our appetizers of tempura vegetables and a very good plate of small gyoza, I had a soup of miso broth with a combination of various items (chicken, tofu, seaweed, cabbage, fish cake) and nice chewy udon noodles. Sarah's soba combination was good too, but a little sweet for my liking.

Although the menu is fairly similar, overall things are a little more relaxed and a little more expensive (but only a little) than the nearby Mifune.
