I must retract my previous lukewarm review based on a lunch here - Sarah & I visited for dinner and it was fantastic! Being our first cook-at-your-table Korean BBQ expierence, we weren't quite sure how it worked, but it was mostly self-explanatory (except for the function of the lettuce, sauce and seaweed, which I assume are for making rolls w/the BBQ). We mistakenly ordered two orders of bul go gi (BBQ beef) - at $18/ea, a somewhat pricey mistake, but on the other hand, it made for great leftovers. Our order of Korean dumplings ($10) proved superfluous, as between the usual myriad side dishes, double order of beef, and a complimentary (and delicious) bowl of hot soft tofu soup, we had an overabundance of food. The BBQ beef, cooked by us at the table over wood charcoal, was easily the best I've had to date - tender, juicy and expertly seasoned. The BBQ chicken, tried on a later visit, was good, but I'd rather have twice as much beef (or try the pork). Service has been mostly attentive and helpful despite the extremely busy clientele. At 6 on a Sunday night, we had a 15-minute wait for two, which I assume would only be worse later in the night or on a Friday or Saturday. Definitely hits the spot on those cold SF summer evenings!
