The Death Ride

Our campsite, again right next to the gushing Carson River.
Pre-ride checkin on Friday was pretty bustling. Its a good idea to get there a few hours after it opens to avoid the lines.
Kickin' it on the N. Tahoe shore at the Hewlett estate.
Walter Hewlett gives his annual pre-ride speech to the HP Death Ride team (over 100 riders)

A rider in a skeleton mask. He was wearing this mask every time I saw him, even towards the end of the ride! Picture courtesy of Barry.
This fellow accused me of taking pictures of the slow-asses behind me. As he was passing me. I don't think its he who is slow....
A bit of perspective - for once it actually looks uphill in a picture.
